Mountain Dog Adventures Guided Group Dog Hikes in Ogden, Utah

90-minute small-pack mountain hikes through the Wasatch

We pick up, adventure together, and drop off, so your dog gets the real exercise they deserve

What Is Mountain Dog Adventures?

Mountain Dog Adventures is our signature service: a 90- minute guided group mountain hike through the Wasatch Range, designed for dogs that need more than a neighborhood walk. Led by a certified Adventure Concierge, your dog joins a small, carefully matched pack of fellow explorers for real trail exercise, fresh mountain air, and genuine socialization. We handle everything from pickup to drop-off, so you don’t have to rearrange your day.

90 min

A full 90-minute guided hike on real Wasatch mountain trails – enough time to run, explore, and burn the energy that actually changes your dog’s behavior at home.

3-4 dogs

Groups are capped at 4 dogs per Adventure Concierge – so every dog gets attention, stays safe on trail, and hikes with temperament-matched companions.

Door-to-door
We pick up from Ogden, Layton, and Morgan and drop off when the adventure ends. No facility trips, no drop-off windows, just your dog back at your door.

Who This Is For and What We Ask

Mountain Dog Adventures is built for social dogs with a lot of energy and owners who want them properly exercised, not just walked around the block. Here’s how to know if it’s the right fit.

Perfect for dogs that…

  • Come home from a standard walk still full of energy
  • Are high-energy breeds: labs, huskies, border collies, golden retrievers, vizslas, shepherds
  • Thrive on socializing and running with other dogs
  • Show anxious or destructive behavior at home from under-exercise
  • Have owners who love outdoor activity but can’t always make it happen midweek

Where Your Dog Adventurers

Ogden sits at the foot of some of the most accessible mountain terrain in Utah. Our Adventure Concierge team takes dogs into real Wasatch Range terrain via routes around Ogden Canyon, the Bonneville Shoreline Trail corridor, Wheeler Creek, and the broader Weber County canyon network – real elevation, varied terrain, and clean mountain air. This isn’t a stroll through a city park. It’s a proper mountain experience that taps into what dogs are wired to do, and for active breeds in Northern Utah, there is no better alternative within reach.

After the hike, your dog comes home happy and genuinely tired. But if you’re working a full day and want to keep the momentum going, we can drop your pup directly at Idlewire Pet Care for their All Day Play daycare program.

As The Pet Concierge operates in official partnership with Idlewire, our clients receive discounted daycare rates - so your dog’s day stays full without your wallet feeling it. Just arrange the Idlewire drop-off in advance when booking your adventure.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The Pet Concierge – Where All Pets Can Be a VIP.

What breeds can join Mountain Dog Adventures?2026-06-18T20:51:07+00:00

Any healthy, well-socialized dog is welcome regardless of breed. High-energy breeds such as Labrador retrievers, huskies, border collies, golden retrievers, vizslas, and shepherds tend to love it most, but the requirement is good temperament and physical fitness, not any specific breed.

How do I get started?2026-06-18T20:50:47+00:00

Book a complimentary 30-minute Meet & Greet through the Time to Pet portal. We’ll meet your dog, assess their temperament and fitness level, and confirm they’re a great fit for group adventures. No booking fee, no obligation.

What if the weather is bad on the day of the hike?2026-06-18T20:50:29+00:00

We monitor trail and weather conditions before every adventure. In cases of severe weather — heavy rain, lightning, extreme heat or dangerous cold — we’ll contact you to reschedule at no cancellation charge. Safety always comes first.

What vaccinations does my dog need?2026-06-18T20:50:12+00:00

Your dog must be current on all core vaccinations before joining any adventure. Please have vaccination records available and up to date in your Time to Pet profile before the Meet & Greet.

What areas do you pick up from?2026-06-18T20:49:50+00:00

We currently serve Ogden, Layton, and Morgan. If you’re not sure whether your address is within our pickup zone, reach out through the Time to Pet portal or the website chat and we’ll confirm quickly.

Can reactive or anxious dogs participate?2026-06-18T20:49:30+00:00

All dogs are assessed during the Meet & Greet before joining a group. If your dog shows signs of aggression or significant reactivity toward other dogs, we may recommend a private option instead — to ensure a safe and positive experience for your pup and the rest of the pack

What exactly is in the report card?2026-06-18T20:49:12+00:00

Every adventure includes a GPS trail record, photos from the hike, a short video clip, and a voice memo from your Adventure Concierge. You’ll know exactly where your dog went, who they hiked with, and how they did.

Can my dog be dropped off at Idlewire after the hike?2026-06-18T20:48:53+00:00

Yes. If you’d like to extend your dog’s day, we can drop them directly at Idlewire Pet Care for their All Day Play daycare program. The Pet Concierge clients receive discounted daycare rates through our partnership. Simply arrange the Idlewire drop-off in advance when booking

How much does Mountain Dog Adventures cost?2026-06-18T20:48:35+00:00

Mountain Dog Adventures is priced at $55 per adventure, which includes door-to-door pickup, the 90-minute guided group hike, and the full post-adventure report card. All bookings are managed through the Time to Pet portal.
